About the Event
Interested in human-centred design for health? Come along to our specialist network launch event.
This is for clinicians, technologists, designers and anyone interested in ensuring health technologies meet human needs. There’ll be speakers sharing interesting case studies and a chance to chat, ask questions and have your say on future events.
The speakers and their case studies are:
Anya Raj, Service Designer, Australian Digital Health Agency
Case study: Birthing on Country
A model of maternity care designed to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers and babies by centering care around cultural safety and community control.
Ransom Onyema, Medical Writer, YouTuber, Final year Radiography student, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria
Case study: Designing a More Accessible Radiology Appointment Experience for Patients in Low-Resource Settings
This project aims to streamline the patient journey from booking to imaging, especially for individuals who often face delays in general, unclear communication, and accessibility barriers.
Ross Dudley, Principal Service Designer, Genomics England
Case study: Design within the context of the NHS
Lessons learned from co-design with NHS research teams and maternity services to develop and deliver a genomic research study across England. The Generation Study aims to test 100,000 newborn babies for 200+ rare genetic conditions. https://www.generationstudy.co.uk/
The event will be chaired by Jesmond Allen, Independent Human-Centred Design Consultant and OHT Fellow.
