About the Event

Following on from our first successful series  we’re hosting a second series of informal virtual coffee chats. These are a great way to connect with other mental health professionals and explore interesting topics. We are changing the format a little. After the icebreaker there will be a brief, 10 minute, presentation to spark a discussion. We understand that everyone’s busy, so we’ll aim to keep the coffee chats to 30 minutes.

However, we’re happy to continue the conversation for up to an hour if the mood strikes! These virtual chats are meant to be open safe spaces to discuss the topics that matter most to you.

Here’s the agenda for our coffee chat on August 21st @ 5:30pm:

  • Icebreaker: Let’s get to know each other!

  • Presentation (Short 10 mins) & Discussion: Mental Health - Practitioner and patient perspectives.

  • Network : What do you hope to gain from the network?

Hosted by: Pravina Saravanamuttu, OHT Fellow.

Healthcare professionals bring valuable insight to health innovation processes in digital health. Yet too often, their viewpoints are underrepresented in technology development. Drawing on Pravina’s experience as a clinical professional working for a digital health provider, we will use this session to explore why the clinical perspective is important in user design, practical ways you can influence innovation as a healthcare professional, and we will also be looking at how healthcare professionals can shape this in the context of mental health. Additionally, we will explore why mental health is overlooked in existing digital health services, and how this could be addressed for the better.
