Building communities that change health innovation.

One Health Tech is a global, volunteer-led community of communities for people working in and around health innovation.

We support the people bringing others together: Community Building Fellows, volunteers, hosts, organisers and connectors growing inclusive grassroots communities around places, topics, practices, identities, career stages and shared questions.

OHT is work-adjacent, but not work. Serious, but not stiff. Practical, but not transactional.

It is a third space for people who care about making health innovation more human, inclusive and grounded in real life.

A place for generous brains, excellent questions, useful introductions and the occasional “I thought I was the only one thinking about this.”

Mission
We grow inclusive grassroots communities of health innovators, creating spaces where connection thrives, ideas grow, and change takes shape.

Vision
A future where health innovation starts at the edges, led by communities, shaped by real-world experience, and made for everyone.
People. Products. Practice
The 3 Ps help us focus on who is heard, what gets built and how health innovation happens.

People.
We back voices too often unheard.

We create spaces where more people can belong, contribute and lead.

That means supporting people working at the edges, joining the dots, bringing lived experience, asking better questions, building trust locally and quietly making things better every day.

The bridge-builders. The connectors. The people who make introductions, spark ideas and help others shine. We see you.

Products.
We champion tools, technologies and services that work in the real world.

That means products shaped by more perspectives, better questions, real-world context and the people they're designed to serve.

Because good health technology isn't just technically impressive. It works for the people who rely on it, in the places where life actually happens.

Better products are built with people, not simply for them.

Practice.
We champion better ways of working.

Through ethics, co-design, collaboration and community, we help shape not just what gets built, but how health innovation happens.

Our communities create the conditions for better conversations, stronger partnerships and more thoughtful decisions from the very beginning.

Less ticking boxes. More listening, learning and building things that people genuinely need.

This is how OHT turns community into influence: not by trying to do everything, everywhere, all at once (absolutely not, thank you) but by helping the right conversations, relationships and ideas travel further.

A tidy little framework for a wonderfully messy world.

Communities create change.
We back the people building what is next.

Our communities form around topics, places, practices, identities, career stages and shared questions. Each community decides its own purpose, whether that is bringing people together, amplifying under-heard voices, sharing practical knowledge, challenging how things are done or sparking new ideas where none existed before.

Some focus on shifting systems. Some focus on holding space. Some focus on building skills, confidence and connection.

Because innovation does not only begin in boardrooms.

It also begins at the edges, in WhatsApp groups, waiting rooms, local meetups, shared frustrations, late-night voice notes, kind introductions and around kitchen tables.

Communities are not an add-on. They are infrastructure for listening, trust, co-creation and change.

Also, they are often where someone finally says the thing everyone else was thinking. Useful, that.

What makes OHT different

We are a third space
Work-adjacent, but not work. Serious, but not stiff. Practical, but not transactional.

OHT is a place where people can bring curiosity, expertise, lived experience, half-formed ideas and awkward questions.
Excellent questions are particularly welcome.

We are volunteer-led
OHT is powered by people who give their time, care and energy to build communities that matter.

They do this alongside jobs, studies, caring responsibilities, advocacy, life admin and whatever else the week has thrown at them.

What troopers, eh?

We take that energy seriously. Our job is to support it, not quietly assume everyone can run on biscuits and goodwill forever.

We are a community of communities
OHT is not one central group trying to do everything.

Our communities grow around places, topics, practices, identities, career stages and shared questions. Each one has its own purpose, energy and rhythm, while being part of the wider OHT network.

Think local roots, global imagination and a healthy amount of “oh, you should definitely meet this person.”

We are inclusive by design
We think carefully about who is in the room, who is missing and how people can participate meaningfully.

Inclusion is not a side project. It shapes how we gather, how we communicate and how we build.

No token chairs. No weird gatekeeping. No “we invited one person, job done.” Absolutely not.

We are practical about change
Community is valuable in itself, and it can also shape the wider world.

The ideas and relationships inside OHT communities can influence people, products, practice, policy, partnerships, research and culture.

We like warm conversations. We also like things actually changing. Both, please.

We keep it human
Warmth, generosity, humour and joy are part of how OHT works.
We want OHT to feel useful, welcoming and alive — a place people want to come back to.

If it feels a bit like someone clever, kind and slightly chaotic has saved you a seat, we are doing something right.
Locally-rooted and globally connected
Power is everywhere.
Joyful, serious, messy, meaningful
Humanity is welcomed.
Inclusive-by-design
Equity is the starting point, not a retrofit.
Flexible and fluid
Shaped by those who hold them.
Our ethos
We build communities that are...
