Find your corner of One Health Tech
Every OHT community is started and grown by volunteers: people who spotted a gap, felt a pull and decided to do something about it.
They are the ones making health innovation feel more local, more relevant and a lot more human.
We support Community Building Fellows to grow inclusive, purpose-led communities around places, topics, practices, identities, career stages and shared questions. Each one defines its own purpose, culture and way of creating impact.
Together, our communities help more people be heard, support better products and services, and shape more ethical, collaborative ways of working.
Some are polished. Some are beautifully scrappy. All of them are built by people who care.
What OHT communities are
Places where things start.
OHT communities are not just mailing lists or event series.
They are spaces where people meet, learn, test ideas, share opportunities, ask better questions and build momentum around the parts of health innovation they care about.
Some communities gather people in a city.
Some gather people around a topic.
Some gather people around an identity, career stage or lived experience.
Some gather people through a shared practice.
Some gather people around a problem everyone keeps noticing but no one has quite named yet.
All of them are powered by people who care enough to bring others together.
A small miracle, honestly.
Place-based communities
Local roots, global thinking.
Health innovation looks different depending on where you are.
Our place-based communities bring together the people building, shaping and challenging health innovation in their corner of the world.
They make space for local knowledge, local relationships and local “we should probably talk about this” energy.
Topic and practice communities
Shared questions, useful conversations.
Our topic and practice communities bring people together around specific areas of health innovation, or around how health innovation gets done.
They help people share learning, spot gaps, build confidence and shape better ways of working.
They are often where the “how are other people doing this?” questions finally find somewhere useful to land.
Identity, stage and affinity communities
Spaces for people who share something important.
Some communities grow around identity, career stage, lived experience or a shared sense of affinity.
These might be spaces for people who are queer in healthtech, students and early-career people, carers, disabled innovators, people from underrepresented backgrounds, or others who want a place to connect with people who understand a particular part of the journey.
These communities can offer peer support, confidence, mentoring, visibility, honest conversation and a route into wider influence.
They are not about putting people in boxes. They are about making room for people to find each other, organise, be seen and shape health innovation on their own terms.
Very useful. Often quietly powerful. Occasionally full of excellent group chat energy.

Many OHT communities begin with someone saying:
“I wish this existed.”
Or:
“Surely I am not the only person thinking about this?”
Or:
“Would it be weird if we brought people together around…”
Nope. Not weird. Very OHT.
If you have spotted a gap, felt a pull or want to bring people together around a place, topic, practice, identity, career stage or shared question, the Community Building Fellowship may be the right next step.
Your idea might focus on people, products, practice or a gloriously tangled mix of all three. That is very allowed.
