OHT Unprescribed Stories

The fictional media we consume every day can help us think more carefully about healthcare, technology, and the world we're building it in. We're talking about the movies we once watched at sleepovers with friends, the tunes we listen to while walking the dog, the Netflix dramas that everyone is talking about in the office, all the way to less mainstream short stories and songs written by authors from all over the world.

When we set out to make healthcare and technology more equitable, we often end up buried in research papers, stuck in stuffy conference rooms, or back in the classroom. But what if we look to more “unprescribed” materials? The Unprescribed Stories club, on a bi-monthly basis, brings together the OHT community virtually to have honest, speculative and meaningful conversations about what equity means in this space, using films, books, TV shows, music, and art as the starting point.

The Unprescribed Stories club is also a place where we can come together and have those special "water cooler moments". These conversations might seem to be trivial, but they foster social connection, can evolve into unexpected and creative ideas, new ways of thinking about the world, or, at the very least, an extra addition to your GoodReads/Letterboxd 😉
