Code of Conduct
Be kind. Be inclusive. Be OHT.
One Health Tech supports and promotes people from under-represented backgrounds to be future leaders in health innovation.
These principles outline our expectations for everyone who participates in our community, and the consequences for unacceptable behaviour.
Because when we get inclusion right, everyone benefits.
And because a warm community still needs clear boundaries. Boundaries are how we keep the good stuff good.
If something happens
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please notify the event or community organiser as soon as possible.
You can also contact someone from the core team at:
We will treat concerns seriously and with care.
No one should have to quietly put up with behaviour that makes OHT feel unsafe, unkind or exclusionary.
Consequences of unacceptable behaviour
Unacceptable behaviour from any community member, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately.
If a community member engages in unacceptable behaviour, community organisers may take any action they deem appropriate.
This could include:
-
a private conversation
-
a warning
-
removal from an event or online space
-
a temporary ban
-
permanent expulsion from the community
The action taken will depend on the situation, the impact and the safety of the wider community.
Anyone is welcome.
We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities.
This includes members of any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, colour, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
You do not need a particular job title, seniority level or professional background to belong here.
You do need to treat people with care and respect.
What we expect
We expect everyone in OHT spaces to:
-
treat others with kindness and respect
-
make room for different experiences and perspectives
-
listen generously
-
avoid dominating conversations
-
respect boundaries, privacy and consent
-
use inclusive and accessible language where possible
-
