About the event
We're hosting monthly breakfast events, kindly supported by Yolk House coworking space, with free coffee and pastries. PLUS you can work there fore the rest of the day!! Lovely stuff.
When Dr Hannah Dawe and Dr Layla Brookfield set up Gas Gals, a mentoring space for women working as anaesthetists, someone asked whether they'd got permission to start it.
"From whom?," she said.
Hannah is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. Alongside the day job she's building a digital tool that screens patients in preoperative assessment for pain-related risk factors - catching things early rather than dealing with the consequences later. Both projects come from the same instinct: if the structure you need doesn't exist, that's not a reason to wait.
It's an instinct we recognise. Creating spaces where more people can belong, contribute and lead is what One Health Tech exists to do - and Hannah's approach sits closely alongside ours.
Join your hosts Rose Bundock and Deborah Fortescue as we talk about starting things before anyone signs them off, building community around a demanding clinical role, and what changes when you stop asking.
