OHT Community Co-Director

One HealthTech

One HealthTech is a global, volunteer-led community-of-communities working to make health innovation more inclusive, more grounded, and more human.

We back voices too often unheard, push for tools that work fairly for everyone, and champion better ways of working through ethics, co-design and collaboration.

We’re looking for a new Community Co-Director to join Angela Maragna and help shape OHT’s next chapter. This is a shared leadership role with a particular focus on funding, partnerships and financial sustainability.

But this is not just a commercial role in community clothing. It is a role for someone who understands that how we work matters just as much as what we do.

About the role

At OHT, community is EVERYTHING! But community magic does not sustain itself in the sense that it needs care, stewardship, good judgement and enough practical support behind it to help it last.

You’ll work closely with Angela Maragna, our long-time existing Co-Director, and Charlotte, our Community Manager, to help steer OHT through its next phase. You’ll lead on funding, partnerships and financial sustainability, while staying rooted in the values and culture that make OHT feel like OHT.

We’re looking for someone who can confidently talk about grants, sponsorship, partnerships and revenue models, but who also understands that community is not a side note here. It is the point.

What you’ll be doing

  • shaping and leading OHT’s funding and income strategy across grants, sponsorship and partnerships

  • identifying and securing opportunities aligned with our mission and values

  • building thoughtful, values-led relationships with funders, partners and supporters

  • helping develop sustainable income streams that strengthen OHT without distorting what makes it special

  • working in close partnership with Angela to co-lead OHT in a collaborative, grounded way

  • supporting and energising our global network of Fellows, volunteers and community-builders

  • helping local communities, chapter leads and sub-communities thrive

  • representing OHT externally at events, panels and across the wider ecosystem

  • helping tell the story of OHT in a way that inspires belief, support and investment

  • contributing to the long-term stewardship of OHT, including continuity, shared leadership and sustainability

How we work

This bit really matters. We are not trying to become a generic networking club, a polished transactional machine, or a culture of gatekeeping and heroics.

We care about:

  • warmth over stiffness

  • openness over gatekeeping

  • shared leadership over heroics

  • practicality over posturing

  • experimentation over perfection

  • community trust over shiny growth for growth’s sake

We’re looking for someone who can bring commercial nous and community instinct. Someone who can build partnerships without becoming extractive. Someone who understands that sustainability is not just about money, but about protecting volunteer energy, supporting contributors well, and helping create the conditions where people can belong, contribute and lead.

We’re looking for someone who...

  • has strong experience raising money through grants, sponsorship, partnerships or similar routes

  • brings clear commercial thinking and can help turn ambition into something viable and sustainable

  • is comfortable taking ownership of financial growth and strategy

  • has an established network across health, tech or related sectors

  • enjoys shared leadership and working closely with others

  • cares deeply about community and understands how to support volunteers and community-builders well

  • is a natural relationship-builder and communicator

  • feels confident representing OHT publicly

  • shares our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility

  • gets excited by helping a community grow without sanding down the bits that make it weird, warm and alive

What really matters

This role has a clear focus which is to help OHT become more financially sustainable, but how you do that matters just as much as what you achieve.

We want someone who can help bring in support and build long-term resilience without losing the trust, generosity, creativity and openness that make this community what it is.

Time commitment

We know this role is a big ask…This is a voluntary role, and we’re looking for someone who can commit around 5–10 hours per week. There will be busier and quieter periods, but overall we want this to feel sustainable, flexible and realistic.

Why join us?

Well, we obviously think we’re a nice bunch to hang out with, but honestly, OHT is a very special thing to be part of. This is a chance to help shape both the sustainability and the soul of a global movement. You’ll be working alongside a committed Co-Director, a fabulous Community Manager, and a brilliant network of Fellows, volunteers and community-builders — the people who really are the engine of OHT, and who will help bring energy, momentum and imagination to the ideas you bring to the table.

We’d especially love to hear from you if...

You may not tick every box, but you have the right mix of experience, judgement, values and energy.

We’re especially keen to hear from people who may not usually apply for roles like this. If this sounds like you (or even almost like you) we’d really love to hear from you.

How to apply

Please send your CV and a one-page cover letter to info@onehealthtech.com, with the subject line “Community Co-Director Application” followed by the emoji that best represents the feeling of clicking send. In your cover letter, tell us why you’re interested and why you think you’d be a great fit for the community.

We’ll keep the role open until we find the right person, because we’re looking for the right mix of commercial experience, community instinct and values-led leadership…not just the fastest application!
