About the event
Artificial Intelligence is no longer something that sits in the future; it is already becoming part of how health and care organisations work.
From supporting administration and reducing repetitive tasks to helping teams analyse information and improve services, AI has the potential to create real benefits. But using AI well is about more than understanding the technology. It is about trust, confidence, safety and knowing where human judgement must remain at the centre.
As organisations begin exploring tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI-enabled solutions, many people are asking:
Can I trust the answers AI gives me?
What information is safe to use?
How do I know when AI has made a mistake?
How can I use these tools without compromising safety or confidentiality?
Building on our work exploring digital inclusion, trust and responsible technology, this session will introduce the One HealthTech TRUST framework as a practical way to think about using AI safely in everyday health and care settings.
This is not about becoming an AI expert.
It is about developing the confidence and critical thinking needed to explore AI safely, understand its limitations and identify where it can genuinely support people and services.
During the session we'll:
Explore how AI tools work and why this matters when using them in health and care.
Discuss some of the biggest questions around AI, including accuracy, bias, privacy, safety and accountability.
Introduce the TRUST framework and how it can help guide safer AI adoption.
Take part in a practical exercise exploring how better prompts and critical thinking can improve AI outputs.
Share experiences, concerns and opportunities for using AI in everyday workflows.
Identify what support people need to feel confident using AI responsibly.
Agenda
12.00–12.05pm – Welcome, introductions, consent and ground rules
12.05–12.20pm – AI in health: moving beyond the hype
A practical introduction to how AI works, where it can help and where caution is needed.
12.20–1.00pm – Putting TRUST into practice: a hands-on exploration
Using a real-world health and care scenario, we’ll explore:
T – Think
How do we critically evaluate AI outputs and challenge assumptions?
R – Recognise
How do we identify errors, gaps and when AI has been used?
U – Understand
What are AI’s capabilities and limitations?
S – Stay Safe
How do we protect information and use AI responsibly?
T – Take Control
How do we create practical, repeatable approaches that support our work?
1.00–1.25pm – Discussion and Q&A
Sharing challenges, opportunities and questions from across health and care.
1.25–1.30pm – Closing thoughts, next steps and future opportunities
We’ll explore questions such as:
Where are you already seeing AI being used in health and care?
What excites you about the potential of AI?
What concerns or barriers do you have?
How do we know when an AI output can be trusted?
What should people always check before using AI-generated information?
How can we make sure AI supports professional judgement rather than replaces it?
What would help you feel more confident using AI safely?
Whether you are a clinician, administrator, digital leader, health tech professional or simply interested in how AI can support better health and care, we’d love you to join the conversation.
Together we can explore how we move from uncertainty to confidence — ensuring AI is introduced in a way that is safe, responsible and centered around people.
Because the future of AI in healthcare depends not just on what technology can do, but on how we choose to use it.
