Digital Innovators in the UK Responding to Crisis

As part of OHT week, which ran the week of May 11th, OHT volunteer Jess Morley brought together a little list of digital innovators who twisted, turned, pivoted and rose up to the opportunities that the pandemic provided.

1st (on our non-ordered list...) is @heypatchwork

Their app connects hospitals with staff to quickly fill vacant shifts and ensure wards are fully staffed

Neeeeext up is @KingsCollegeLon & @kingshealth's Life Lines project

Life Lines allows family members to see and speak to their loved ones via a tablet using an app on a secure online platform + meet the clinical team providing care

We had a lot of love for @MedwiseAI in our digital innovators' response to crisis list

These folks use AI to source answers from clinical journals and official government advice to key COVID19 questions

Now we've got a little foursome! @wearebighealth @unmindhq @Headspace

All these help manage our mental health, and during this time, have been made freely available to health and care workers!

One for the #OHT20 community @Peopletoo1 @NovoVille are launching GetVolunteering

It's an an app to fast track volunteers into clinical and non-clinical roles to support the fight against COVID19

We luuuurve @SimplyDoIdeas

They'll develop a virtual community of NHS medical professionals currently in self-isolation who can be unlocked virtually to help solve #COVID19 care challenges set within the platform

In our list of digital innovators flourishing and storming ahead during the pandemic is @meetnye!

Nye enables any clinician to telephone/video any patient from any device, anywhere. SIMPLES

Next up we have @BirdieCare!

"Birdie will deploy a free, national care worker app with a COVID-19 symptom checker, integrated with the NHS 111 service, to identify confirmed or suspected infections among the elderly they care for"

Next digital innovator in COVID19 is C19 Control from @everyLIFETech covering:

  • Screening

  • COVID status tracking (people being cared for & staff)

  • PPE status tracking at individual/office level

  • Case reporting across all care settings

Next up our little list is @feebris

Feebris aims to help carers triage the day-to-day health needs of their residents during the COVID19 pandemic

Next up is @accuRx

accuRx is an NHS Digital approved econsultation system providing video consultation, patient questions and 2-way patient conversations

Another digital innovator stepping up to the COVID19 plate that we're featuring is friends of the community @WeAreDrDoctor

DrDoctor have launched a free Covid-19 toolkit for NHS Trusts including broadcast messaging and video consultations

And finally, our last COVIDy (??) digital innovator of this list is @myCinapsis!

They provide virtual specialist advice on referrals & end-of-life care. e.g. In #COVID19 - For GPs/paramedics on whether patients should be transported to an ICU or community hospital
